Houston

Hengststation Kretschmer - Houston

A stallion for many different requirements.

Houston is an extremely noble all-round stallion you hardly find today. His hereditary qualities are as versatile as his sport performances. Exactly 10 years ago, at the age of five, he placed in the Final of the Federal Eventing Championships with his trainer Marina Köhncke (formerly Loheit). He also qualified at the age of six, but as his rider participated at the Olympic Games in Sydney, he did not start.

Although not frequently used for breeding, he constantly supplies astonishing and successful offspring. The Westphalian mare Hillary (breeder: M. Mense) competed at the Federal Championships in Warendorf in 2009, just like the two finalists Only you MG and Lady you MG (breeding site Grigoleit). The gelding Indurain qualified under A. Bierlein.

(im dt. Text „Vielseitigkeit“ Schreibfehler) His son Boo Bandit TSF is successful up to three-star event level. His offspring are successful at all kinds of equestrian disciplines, and they display convincing eagerness to perform, rideability and a fantastic character. His sire, Sir Chamberlain, won his stallion performance test in Warendorf, scoring the highest mark in both dressage and show jumping, complemented by fantastic dressage and show jumping test rider scores of 10 and 9.5. The quality of his performance pedigree is hard to top.

His offspring are successfully competing in all kinds of equestrian disciplines up to advanced level, for example Ictenos (international Grand Prix-winner under Anky van Grunsven), Evano (advanced dressage level) or Parmenides – the first horse in the history of the Federal Championships to earn the bronze medal in the division of five-year-old event horses and to compete in the show jumping final in 2009 under Ingrid Klimke. Houston is a representative of one of the most valuable mare families of the Trakehner breed in Germany, the family of Herbstgold, fostered on Gestüt Panker. Dam High Fidelity and granddam Havanna VIII belonged to the winning family of the Rhineland National Show in 1996. Dam’s sire Saros xx descends from the important Schlenderhahn Schwarzgold-line.

In regards to the often regretted reluctance of the use of thoroughbred blood, Houston is an excellent alternative with lots of thoroughbred influence, combined with a perfectly bred, superb rideability. Improving the canter, toughness, longevity, power, intelligence and willingness to perform are only some of the features we love about the valuable refining blood!
